Guitar lessons with Gordon Rowland are offered in the San Francisco bay area of northern California. Gordon is currently teaching in Sebastopol, Novato, Benicia, and Walnut Creek.

Contact us for our current rates. Missed lessons are paid regardless of attendance. Make-up lessons are sometimes possible when we can reschedule before your usual lesson time but because I teach in several towns rescheduling is quite inconvenient for the student. I give special situations special treatment but I don't encourage students to study with me if other commitments preclude my formula for success. To miss more than occasionally frustrates our common goal. My policy is convenient and affordable to the student who can keep a steady routine. Lesson consistency combined with a short but concentrated daily practice routine (10 to 30 minutes) assures success.

Recitals, Workshops & Panels

GuitarWork provides student and faculty recitals that are a essential supplement to private lessons. These are offered at no cost to private students. Students are encouraged to participate in a recital at least once in every six months. The faculty recitals are informal performances or small concerts featuring musicians associated with GuitarWork. These are offered at no cost to private students or their escorts. Workshops are group classes that happen on several levels. These cover introductory material for beginners or address performance skills, theory or special techniques. Adjudication panels provide a written commentary by a panel of music teachers in response to the student's performance.
